Efficiency of air conditioners can be as simple as the filter. Inspect and change filters at least monthly. Units should be inspected and serviced yearly. Remember that in most areas, you must be licensed to dispense Freon. A licensed heating & air technician can take care of the unit. Stay cool smartly, inspect and replace.

  • When installing and hooking to rural water, what kind and size of pipe should be used?
  • Depending on the length of run, from the meter I suggest using either
    1 ¼" or 1 ½" schedule 40 pipe to within 100 feet of dwelling or building. Then convert to ¾" or 1" blue water pipe. The reason I suggest large diameter schedule 40 is depending on the length of run (300 feet or longer) the water pressure will not be adversely affected, but the volume will be greatly reduced using smaller pipe on a long run. Once everyone comes on line and starts utilizing water, volume is going to be the biggest problem. Unions and adapters needed from schedule 40 to plastic pipe are readily available. Any short runs can be made utilizing either schedule 40 or blue water pipe.
  • Can swimming pools, stock tanks, etc. be hooked to rural water?
  • Yes but a back flow preventer must be installed at each location to prevent any contamination.
